On Friday mornings at the spa-inspired Zen Garage Yoga Studio, you can now find kids 2 and up practicing their oms, sun salutations and breathing exercises. It’s all part of owner Piper-Lori Parker’s plan to introduce yoga as early as possible so kids can get the same health and emotional benefits their parents do.

Zen Garage’s Little Buddhas class is a serious yoga primer. Parker says the class improves posture, flexibility and creativity, and gives lessons in self-control and following directions while also providing kids a sense of calm.
The one-hour sessions are filled with activities that keep the kids on task and engaged.
Parker plays the harmonium in her classes, adding a musical touch.
Parents and caregivers are welcome to stay with the kids–or better yet, take a hot yoga class in an adjacent room.
