Pinspiration

Arguably, one of my biggest pet peeves on Pinterest is when a person repeatedly pins inspirational workout quotes. I know you’ve seen them, “Sweat is fat crying” or “If stress burned calories, I’d be a supermodel” or other similar motivational nuggets. But last time I checked, incessantly pinning thoughts of inspiration never helped me lose weight.

Instead, in my own quest to drop some pounds, I’ve turned to Pinterest for some different weight loss assistance. From healthy food ideas to quick at-home workouts, if I take the time to actually carry out the pins that I pin, then perhaps I will find that Pinterest actually assists me in achieving my weight loss goals.

Healthy eating

Obviously one of the biggest steps in weight loss is healthy eating. I find that my snacking gets somewhat out of control. If you’re looking for some great ideas to change up your snack attacks, check thispin out. I’ve also had great success with these no-bake energy bites (and bonus: my boys love them too!) For a sweet tooth, what about Baked Apple Chips?Or you can just pull up thispin for a list of those healthy snacks without having to click through.

I also find that you can search for recipes if you are following a specific diet plan, such as Weight Watchers. Some of the favorites I’ve encountered include salsa roll-ups or a fabulous classic chicken salad. Jumping on the South Beach bandwagon? Try outthis pizza. While you may not always eat food throughout the day that came from Pinterest, it’s a great way to break up the monotony of food planning and preparation.

At-home exercises

As a mom who also works part-time outside of the home, my time is at a premium. Because of that, I like scouring Pinterest for easy exercises that I can do from the comfort of my own home that, in a pinch, won’t take two hours to complete.

I’ve been interested inmaking over my body in three weeks and even thiscardio strength/workout.If you are feeling up for a challenge, try the 100 workout.

It’s easy to make excuses (trust me, I’ve done it for years), but a hobby that we love (like Pinterest) can help us lose weight if we find the right pins and we actually carry them out in our day-to-day life.

What are your favorite healthy/weight loss pins?
