PBteen Bed and study loft recalled due to fall hazard
Hazard: The rail on the side of the bed which supports the mattress frame can crack. This can cause the bed to collapse and children can fall and hurt themselves.
Incidents/Injuries: 7 incidents of the rail cracking or splitting, 1 of which resulted in an injury.
Description: The bed and study loft is manufactured by PBteen, and the recall includes the following colors: espresso, honey, white and black. There is a desk under the lofted bed and shelves going down the back.
Where you bought them: PBteen stores in Illinois or online at pbteen.com between January 2008 and July 2010 for $1,800.
What to do: PBteen is offering installation of a replacement side rail. Contact the company at 877-494-9822.
Valcro Baby and Tike Tech recall jogging strollers
Hazard: The jogging strollers have a grab bar that goes across front of the stroller. If not strapped in properly, children’s bodies can fall through the gap between the grab bar and seat and become trapped. This forces their neck against the grab bar which can stop them from breathing.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The Valcro Baby recall includes the Tri Model Singles and Twin Jogging strollers. The Tike Tech recall includes the Single City X3 and X3 Sport Jogging strollers.

Where you bought them: Valcro Baby: Retailers where strollers are sold, including online retailers such as amazon.com between November 2007 and March 2010 for $480 to $700. Tike Tech: Retailers where strollers are sold, including online retailers between October 2008 and February 2010 for $300.
What to do: Remove the grab bar from the stroller. Both companies are providing a replacement grab bar. To get one, contact Valcro Baby at 800-610-7850, or Tike Tech at 800-296-4602.
“Alexander Design” cribs sold at JCPenney recalled due to safety hazards
Hazard: The railing on the crib can fall or break causing the drop side to detach from the crib altogether. If this happens, babies can either fall completely out of the crib, or they can become trapped between the mattress and the drop side, presenting a risk for suffocation and strangulation.
Incidents/Injuries: 2 incidents of drop side malfunction, but no injuries have been reported.
Description: The recall includes Alexander 3-in-1 Cribs, Alexander Classic Cribs and Alexander Sleigh Cribs sold by Alexander Designs at JCPenney. The JCPenney catalog and item number are printed on the headboard.

Where you bought it: JCPenney, either online or from a catalog, between March 2003 and April 2007 for $200.
What to do: Alexander Designs asks parents to stop using the crib until they call and receive a repair kit that will immobilize the drop-side rail. Parents are urged to find temporary replacements, such as a bassinet while Alexander Designs works to fix the problem. They can be reached at 800-295-1980.
Green Mountain Vista recalls shades due to strangulation hazard
Hazard: Roman shades manufactured by Green Mountain Vista have an inner cord which children can pull, place around their neck and cause strangulation.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recall includes all Green Mountain Vista Roman shades. They are identifiable by a label sewn into the back of the shade with RN#107875.
Where you bought it: Specialty home textile retail shops and mail order companies nationwide between September 2004 and August 2010 for $40 to $120.
