The best and worst cities for Illinois families in 2016

Obviously, we think Chicagoland is the best place in the world for families, and we spend most of our time here at Chicago Parent investigating and reporting on all of the reasons that’s true.

But WalletHub just released an analysis of towns in Illinois that looked at a range of factors such as divorce rates, cost of living, school quality, crime rates and more, and the results are pretty surprising.

According to the study, Chicago is overall one of the worst cities in the state for families. Morton came in first place as the overall best place for family living.

The study also revealed more specific information, such as the fact that Hinsdale has the highest school-system quality in the state, and Woodstock has the highest number of pediatricians per capita.
