So we sat down with four kids in the cast to talk about what this family favorite means to them — and what’s on their holiday wish list.

Matt Gold, 13, of Deerfield; Mackenzie Wilkin, 9, of Wilmette; Caroline Heffernan, 9, of Norwood Park; and John Babbo, 9, of River Forest are the four junior members of this year’s production.

Since early November, they’ve spent hundreds of hours rehearsing alongside some of Chicago’s most critically acclaimed actors and production staff. But when it comes down to it, they said some of their best moments have come with each other, out from under the spotlight.
