Using T-shirts to teach kids virtues

Monika Hall remembers looking around at a children’s concert and seeing hundreds of toddlers decked out in shirts with words like"spoiled” or"princess” splashed across them. In bed that night, she had an"a-ha” moment: What if kids’ shirts instead were printed with words like"courage,”"kindness” or"patience?”

Hall’s idea became a reality last year when she launched Toddler Virtue Tees, which sells T-shirts in sizes 2T-4T. She is currently adding youth and mommy shirts to her line. Shirts cost $20 and include a word on the front, the definition on the back and a tag that outlines a five-step"getting-dressed” game to teach kids the virtue.
