102nd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Where: Millennium Park (the corner of Michigan Ave. and Washington St.)

When: Nov. 24, 5:30-6 p.m.

The city announced that its 102nd Christmas tree will officially stand in Millennium Park this year. The tree has been on display in the Daley Plaza for almost 48 years, but the move will put the tree closer to favorite Chicago activities such as ice skating in Millennium Park, caroling at The Bean and playing in Maggie Daley Park.

The annual tree lighting ceremony will be on Nov. 24 in Millennium Park at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Washington Street. Santa Claus will also be setting up his workshop for visits in Millennium Park this year, Nov. 24-Dec. 20.

Know a fantastic tree? The city is still accepting tree nominations through Oct. 26. Check out tree qualifications and entry details here.
