Toy Story comes to life in homemade, live action film

We hope to never see the day when kids don’t fall in love with Woody and Buzz the first time they watch Toy Story. The original film, a Disney-Pixar computer animation first, was released in 1995, which means that over the past 16 years that adventurous journey home from Pizza Planet has been capturing a lot of hearts.

For the past two years, Jonason Pauley, 19, and Jesse Perrotta, 21, of Arizona have taken that childhood love forToy Story and created something we’re pretty pleased about: a full-length, live action version of the movie.

Why didn’t we think of that?

In an interview with the East Valley Tribune, the pair say they were inspired to make the film by the desire to visit Pixar Animation Studios. After creating the film, the sent it to Pixar for an official blessing and were even allowed to pass out DVDs of their creation at the studios.

“We have so much respect for Pixar, we don’t want to do anything without their consent,” Perrotta said in the interview. “All I really wish is that our fans get to see it someday. I just want everybody to see this movie one way or another.”

They’ve uploaded the full movie to YouTube and we’ve embedded it below for you to enjoy. If you’re avid Toy Story fans like we are, you’ll love the attention to detail.

You can learn more about the project and the process the friends went through creating the film on their Facebook page.
