The Brady Bunch love continues to grow in our home ( click here to read My Very Brady Blog), and the lessons from each episode lead to meaningful conversations about our choices and experiences.
Like when Peter needs to sing with his brothers and sisters and his voice keeps cracking – at first they are annoyed and worried, but Peter’s puberty is inevitable, so they create a new song, a song where he can show off his ever-changing voice with pride.
Change is rarely easy – it often means venturing into the unknown, and this can be unsettling and scary.
But change is really the only thing we can count on.
Sometimes it’s forced upon us – our children grow up, a friend moves away, a pet dies.
And sometimes change is based on choice – trying something new, venturing out of a comfort zone, following your heart.
And for me it is one of those times. I have been a Chicago Parent blogger for over two years, and it’s time for me to move to a new place.
Chicago Parent, specifically Tamara O’Shaughnessy, gave me my first break and published my first article, so I am forever grateful and a forever fan.
And I still plan to write for Chicago Parent Magazine as much as possible, but this blog will be moving to a new location. I look forward to the challenge and I welcome new and exciting experiences.
So if you enjoy The Self-Aware Parent blog, you can continue to read it by clicking here and even subscribing to it so each post ends up in your inbox.
I deeply hope we stay connected as I go with the flow, try something new, and live life based on some Brady philosophy…
When it’s time to change, then it’s time to change
Don't fight the tide, come along for the ride, don't you see
When it’s time to change, you’ve got to rearrange
Who you are into what you’re gonna be…
Sha na na na – na na na na na – Sha na na na na….
With love and gratitude,
Cathy
