Introducing White Dad Problems, and their Thanksgiving traditions

Editors note: Back in August, we introduced you to White Dad Problems, an online comedy show about parenting created by three former college roommates who are now all fathers. Since our article on the guys, we’ve kept in touch and invited them to join the Chicago Parent blogging family. Each week they’ll bring you a hilarious audio blog post so you’ll want to be sure to check back with us each Tuesday to listen. The guys have graciously included an introduction to themselves and their families in their first audio post, but if you want to learn a little more about how they got started, read our story from August. We are so glad to have the aboard and can’t wait for our readers to get to know them better.

Welcome to the first Chicago Parent edition of White Dad Problems. You don’t have to be white or a dad to enjoy the comic misadventures and parental flailing of these three guys.

It’s Turkey Week! While the Dads prefer Thanksgiving to holidays involving gifts, eggs, long Masses, orlarge holiday bonnets- it’s tougher to wrangle kids at a “table oriented holiday.”

Todd will be spending Thanksgiving in the traditional South Side Polish manner – gambling and playing the accordion.

Matt talks about his annual tradition of cramming his family’s Italianfeast and his wife’s African-American feast into his belly with only 45 minutes to rest between engorgements. Dave, having his first experience as a Dad at Thanksgiving, recounts the worst holiday ever, when his wife was 16 months pregnant with twins and riddled with festive holiday gestational diabetes.

Happy Thanksgiving!
