Celebrate St. Patrick at the Irish American Heritage Center

One of Chicago’s greatest claims to fame is its epic St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Head to the St. Patrick’s Festival, where there’s kid-appropriate music, high-stepping dance, food and children’s activities.

And come back the next day for an authentic Irish breakfast (we’re guessing no Lucky Charms…), more live entertainment and face painting for your little leprechauns. Irish or not, your eyes are sure to be smiling.

$15 Saturday, $10 Sunday, free kids 12 and under; $10 breakfast. 1 p.m.-midnight Saturday; 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday. March 17-18. Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N. Knox Ave., Chicago. (773) 282-7035, irish-american.org.
