Winter break DIY projects

Winter break is a great time to do craft projects that involve the whole family. And the perfect place to find inspiration is just a few clicks away on Pinterest.

On of my favorites is the DIY snow globes. The idea comes from Deborah Weisenhaus, design expert and consultant at Art of Imagination.

First, collect materials, such as small glass jars with tight fitting lids (you can recycle food jars). Then look for small plastic items, such as animals, at your local craft store. You will need glycerin, waterproof glue, distilled water and glitter.

Prep all materials on a clean surface, then let the fun begin! Glue any figurines inside the base of the jar, let dry and then fill with the distilled water. Add a splash of glycerin and a pinch of glitter. You can decorate the outside of the jar with ribbons, stickers and paint. Close tightly.
