Three unique spots to see Santa in Chicago

When Santa ventures away from the chill of the North Pole, you’d better believe he would choose some fun spots to meet up with the kiddies. Check out these two not-so-typical places where your little ones can tell the big guy their dearest holiday wishes (and fill up their tummies).

A prehistoric holiday? Not quite, but the Field Museum’s Breakfast with Santa and SUE promises a meal that would have Fred Flinstone yabba-dabba-doing. After eating in the historic Stanley Field Hall, get a picture taken with Santa and his gigantic T. rex friend. 8, 8:30 and 9 a.m. Dec. 6, 13 and 20.

The Bears aren’t giving us much reason to rush to Soldier Field, but the Breakfast with Santa just might do the trick. It includes cookie decorating, an old-fashioned model train and a handmade ornament competition judged by a celebrity guest Bears player. 10 a.m. Dec. 13.

It’s not quite a soaring sleigh ride, but you can sail away with Santa on the Spirit of Chicago. The afternoon cruise comes complete with interactive entertainment, a delicious new lunch menu and some spectacular skyline views. 12:30-3:15 p.m. Dec. 13.
