Henry A. Proesel Park, 7030 N. Lincoln Ave., in Lincolnwood has so many options for families from an aquatic center to an in-line skating rink. I recently enjoyed a ladies and kiddos (optional) picnic there.
This place had me at ample parking spaces lining the streets near the playground. Ah, the suburbs! These shaded picnic tables are located near the playground, so keeping an eye on kiddos is easy.
The tables also made a perfect stage for my friend Rebecca Rodriguez’s daughter Suelexia and son Alexei to have an impromptu rap-a-thon.
Party-planning radar went off in our group, and we chatted about the fun possibilities for this pavilion that has bathrooms. I found out that it’s available to rent for events!
The playground is in good shape, and while it is not fully in the shade, nearby trees take the edge off of summer sun. It entertained the school-aged Rodriguez kids for a long while.
I did not bring my toddler Isaiah along because #mamatime, but I want to bring him back to check out this cute Tot House. It even has a mini booth inside for pint-sized park diners!
This scenic area could be a fun place to challenge a friend to game of checkers. I noticed a table with a checkerboard painted on top!
Alexei and Suelexia treated this thing like a ninja warrior obstacle course, and the grown ups cheered them on.
