Products recalled for lead

Recent recalls of products with lead hazards include: Children’s Butterfly Necklaces by U.S. Toy Co. are recalled because the clasps on the necklaces contain high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children.

Children’s"Powerpuff Girls” Necklaces are recalled because the multi-colored pendants contain high levels of lead.

Gigantic Gemstone Ring Party Favors by Celebrate Express Inc. could contain high levels of lead. The rings were sold individually and as part of various party favor, costume and heirloom sets.

Gemco Lemonade Jars by Lifetime Brands Inc. are recalled because the metal spigot contains lead and comes in direct contact with the contents of the lemonade jar.

Starting Out Shirt and Overalls by Samara Brothers LLC are recalled because the coatings on the snaps in the overalls and shirt contain excessive amounts of lead.

Wrist Straps used with the Wii Video Game System by Nintendo of America need to be replaced because if the hand-held"Wii Remote” is swung hard and accidentally let go, the cord connecting the controller to the wrist strap can break, causing the controller to possibly hit others standing nearby.

“See Kai Run” Brand Children’s Boots can cause kids to choke because the metal snaps on the side closure of the boot can detach.

BABYBJORN Feeding Spoons are unsafe because the soft plastic tip on the feeding spoon can loosen and break off after several uses.

Bell Rattles by BRIO Corp. are recalled because the small bell positioned between the wood slats can break and young children can choke on the small parts.

Baby greendog Girl’s Knit Coveralls sold at Macy’s can cause choking because the snaps on the legs of the coveralls can detach.

Holiday Time Stuffed Christmas Beagles sold at Wal-Mart are recalled because the red pompoms on the wreath attached to the beagle’s mouth could detach, causing kids to choke.

Children’s Hooded Sweatshirts by Black Dog Tavern Company have a drawstring through the hood, which can strangle children.

Micro R/C Helicopters by ThinkGeek Inc. are recalled because the helicopter battery can overheat and catch fire.

Phil and Teds e3 Strollers with double seats are unsafe to use because children can touch the rear tires when in the stroller’s add-on seat.
