It’s not Easter, but I have been “dye-ing” to try hard-boiled eggs in the oven since then. Whether you’re boiling eggs for dyeing, daily eating, or even a delicious egg salad to bring with on a picnic or put on sandwiches, this recipe has the potential to work for you (and did I mention it requires only three “ingredients”)?
My fears about boiling eggs were pretty tame. I imagined the oven smoking with flames shooting out as eggs exploded from the intense pressure on their shell. Perhaps the result would be splattered egg everywhere! Alas, the multiple pins (similar recipes) that I found everywhere actually seemed to work true to form.
Ingredients and Tools
- Eggs – a dozen works, feel free to make less
- Muffin pan – fits one dozen perfectly

- Bowl of ice water
Directions
- The prep time is approximately two minutes. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Place eggs in muffin cups.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove. Place in an ice bath for 10 minutes.
- Peel, eat and if you want, repeat.
Apart from dyeing eggs, this full recipe of 12 eggs would also work if you need to quickly make eggs for an egg salad and I also like the fact that I can make several eggs at once if I eat them throughout the week. This recipe for Avocado Egg Salad also comes highly recommended in case you’re looking for something a bit different.
