Chicago kids can use math skills with yummy cookies

Here is a twist on the typical oatmeal raisin cookie. Replace the raisins with cranberries and don’t forget the chocolate chips! These are super easy to bake and so delicious to eat!

Let your kiddos help with the prep work. Measuring, mixing and tasting puts math, muscles to work while having fun!

Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cranberry Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • ½ cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. sea salt
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine all ingredients and stir.

Bake for 8 minutes or until golden brown.
