Get out and play

If you haven’t quite decided what you are going to tell Santa to get your kids this holiday season, don’t worry—we haven’t either. But a visit to this year’s Chicago Toy and Game Fair at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center, located at 1551 N. Thoreau Drive, Schaumburg, should give you a few grand ideas.

From toys to games to breakfast with Star Wars characters, for $25, $15 kids, there will be plenty for your entire family to do. If all of the recalls have left you a little weary about toy shopping, you can address your concerns and learn what to look for in safe toys at a toy safety panel at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The best part about the fair, you can play with almost all of the toys and games. If that isn’t enough for your family, there will also be bounce houses, a WorldBee Geography Bee and Radio Disney, among other character visits and activities. The Chicago Toy and Game Fair is from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $10, $5 kids one day pass, $18, $9 kids two day pass. Kids under 3 are free. For more information, visit the Web site, www.chitag.com or call (312) 268-5900.

The Rockettes are great dancers—they are very smooth with their moves. Their show,“The Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring The Rockettes,” was so good. There was one scene with Santa Claus and as he started to sing and dance, a bunch of Santa Clauses came out. My favorite part of the show was when The Rockettes came out dressed as Nutcrackers and started dancing and then at the end they made a line and slowly fell down. They do so many types of dancing including tap dancing, ballroom dancing, modern dancing and ballet. I went to the show with my friends and we all had a great time.
