I always love when a natural market opens in Chicago! While Chicago is known for loving steak, the cows will be happy that this city is becoming more health conscious.
Mrs. Green’s has two prime locations. It just opened at 555 W. Webster in Lincoln Park across from Oz Park and DQ and offers one-hour indoor parking (very important for this Arctic winter). Its second location is opening in the former Fox & Obel space in Chicago’s River North neighborhood.
Mrs. Green’s is kid friendly. It offers mini shopping carts and all produce is organic so when my daughter grabs an apple and starts eating it on the spot, I don’t have to freak out looking for wipes. They have a smoothie station, a dessert counter carrying local bakers’ treats, and if you are hungry while shopping, they have made to order hamburgers and pizzas.
The best part of this new natural market is they offer free nutrition consultations. All you have to do is send an email to azalay@mrsgreens.com or kjohnson@mrsgreens.com and they will set up an appointment and send you a form to fill out specifying your nutritional goals ranging from gluten free and shedding pounds to cooking kid-friendly meals.
I sat down with both nutritionists to discuss my favorite topic, healthy family meals. Not only did we discuss healthy swaps, but also they personally walked me through the aisles showing me products based upon our consultation. You are not obligated to buy anything.
