Good eats at Naperville Restaurant Week

Naperville Restaurant Week runs February 15-29. That actually makes it two weeks, but let’s face it, “Restaurant Fortnight” just doesn’t have the same ring to it. The good news is you have two full weeks to take advantage of the deals offered around town.

Here are some of our favorite Naperville Restaurant Week deals. Caution: Reading may make you very hungry.

Best restaurant for watching the Blackhawks:

Jimmy’s Grill

245 S. Washington, Naperville

Deal: 20 percent off entire check with food purchases when you mention Naperville Restaurant Week Special.

There are several large televisions in this popular establishment that is family-friendly during the day and early evening, and you won’t be the only ones cheering when they score a goal. The kids’ menu includes grilled chicken, grilled cheese and burgers with several fruits and veggie options for sides.

Best restaurant for pizza night if you like Chicago-style pizza:

Giordano’s

119 S. Main St. and 3224 S. Route 59

Deal: 20 percent off your bill when you dine in and mention Naperville Restaurant Week (excludes alcohol).

Pizza is an easy way to please the whole family, and this chilly time of year calls for a piping hot pie with some extra gooey mozzarella. Put the phones away and enjoy hearing about everyone’s day, as well as the fact that you don’t have to do the dishes.

Best restaurant for pizza night if you prefer New York-style pizza:

Little Pop’s Pizza

1819 Wehrli Rd.

Deal: Free appetizer with dinner. Lunch special is junior hero, fries and a soda or water for $7.50.

Unlike Jon Stewart, we think it’s possible to appreciate all kinds of pizza. The beauty of restaurant week lasting two weeks is that you can try out both and decide for yourself. New York-style pizza is a bit different, and the folks at Little Pop’s make a great pie as well as make you feel like you’re part of the family. My daughter would do just about anything for the garlic knots that are available as an appetizer.

Best restaurant for date night:

Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House

55 S. Main St.

Deal: Prix Fixe three course dinner for $39 per person featuring filet and crab meat, grilled Scottish salmon or pan roasted scallops with sweet pea risotto and wild mushrooms as entrée selections.

You don’t have to head to Rush Street to enjoy a delicious dinner at Hugo’s Frog Bar. The Naperville location makes for a great date night where you can savor good food and alone time with your partner, all without having to cut someone else’s meat.

Best restaurant for adult foodies:

SugarToad

2139 CityGate Ln.

Deal: Prix Fixe three course dinner for $33 per person featuring braised short rib, skate wing and sea scallop, or Thai seared tofu as entrée selections.

Located in the Hotel Arista right off I-88, SugarToad offers inventive presentations and creative flavors in a sophisticated environment. The quiet, grown-up environment is great for having a conversation where you actually get to speak in complete sentences without being interrupted by little ones.

Best restaurant for girls night out:

Cooper’s Hawk

1740 Freedom Dr.

Deal: Prix fixe lunch at $20 per person or dinner at $30 per person, which includes soft drink, tea or coffee.

Cooper’s Hawk takes an upscale casual approach that makes it easy to have fun with the girls. Wine isn’t included in the Restaurant Week deal, but you can still order it and raise a glass to your girlfriends who keep you sane and laughing. Save some time to browse some of the cute store for fun wine-themed items.

Best restaurant for seafood lovers:

Catch 35

35 S. Washington St.

Deal: Prix Fixe lunch at $22, and two prix fixe dinners, one for $33 and one for $44.

Catch 35 offers a lot of choices, with more than 10 total entrée choices and they all sound delicious. There are non-seafood options as well, including filet mignon. Don’t think the dessert choice will be easy after that, however, because picking between the key lime pie and flourless chocolate cake isn’t an easy decision.

Happy eating! You can find all the participating restaurants and the deals they are offering here.
