Bank of America card picks up the tab at Shedd, Art Institute, other Chicago museums

It can be a brutal moment for Chicagoland parents. While the kids’ faces light up with anticipation of seeing an adorable animal or a slice of Chicago history or culture, you reach for your credit card and brace yourself. Chicago’s museums are world-class, but they aren’t cheap.

But depending on what’s in your wallet, your credit card could do more than pay: It could get you in for free.

On the first full weekend of the month, Bank of America picks up the check for cardholders at five Chicago museums, with its “Museums on Us” program. Just present your Bank of America debit or credit card and receive free basic admission (one per card).

The Shedd Aquarium, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago History Museum, the DuSable Museum of African American History and the Museum of Contemporary Art are the five participating institutions.

See what’s at these museums now!

Upcoming dates are: May 7-8, June 4-5, July 2-3 and Aug. 6-7.
