MSI free to IL residents September weekdays

Could your child’s science knowledge use a little refresher heading into the new school year? If you live in Illinois, you’re in luck. The Museum of Science and Industry is offering free general admission weekdays in September starting Sept. 6.

General admission includes hands-on, permanent exhibits, as well as the live science demonstrations throughout the day.

If you need some physics training, Science Storms re-creates some of nature’s most powerful phenomena. YOU! The Experience gives lessons in anatomy& physiology, while Bangs, Flashes and Fire delivers a daily chemistry experiment that has a spark.

Nearly all of MSI’s exhibits have some sort of special science touch, whether it’s green energy or genetics. And be sure to use the SciPass on your ticket to save your science-related learning – from waves to snack foods – to review after your visit.

Free general admission for Illinois residents applies Sept. 6-9, Sept. 12-16, 19-23 and 26-30. The museum will be open 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on those days. Bring your driver’s license or state ID to claim the discount.
