A makeover for mom

Chicago Parent reader Megan Sechowski got a great holiday present: a day of hair and makeup and new clothes, and – most of all – a day of pampering.

Megan’s entry

After college, my husband and I were saving up to buy a house,
so pampering myself was never a priority. Then I had my first
daughter, Bailey, who had to have three heart surgeries.
Thankfully, Bailey is a fighter, and now she is 3 going on 13. I’ve
had another daughter, Riley, since then, and they keep me on my
toes. I love shopping and looking good, but I feel like and look
like a woman who just woke up, basically a mess. I love being a mom
and wouldn’t trade it in for anything else, but I would like to
feel like an attractive woman again.

-Megan Sechowski, Chicago mom of two girls

Chicago Parent teamed up with ShopWalk, an image consulting company based in Chicago owned by Danielle Lutz, who pulled together a $600 makeover package, to help this mother of two toddler daughters feel a bit like her old self again.

The makeover included wardrobe styling byShopWalk, valued at $200, makeup from LOOKS Cosmetics, valued at $100, hair by Trio Salon, valued at $250, a mani/pedi from The Four Seasons Spa, fourseasons.com/chicagofs/spa, valued at $120, a spray tan from Ortanic, ortanic.com, plus car service for the makeover from Uber, uber.com.
