Make a sun-catcher

Make a sun catcher for your window to coax the sun’s rays inside.

Instructions:

  1. Cut thetissue paper into small pieces of various shapesand sizes and mix together into a pile. Using sticky contact paperor a self-laminating sleeve, arrange the tissue paper in whateverpattern you would like, making sure that the edges overlap andthere are no spaces between the pieces. The idea is to create astained-glass effect. When you have the tissue paper in place, carefully close the self-laminating sleeve or cover with anotherpiece of contact paper and seal together, smoothing out anywrinkles or bumps. Let all of the edges adhere completely.
  2. Cut outthe middle of two paper or bamboo plates, leavingabout 2 inches around the outside edge. Paint the plates yellow ororange and let dry.
  3. Cut thelaminated tissue paper into a circle that will fitinside the two paper plates (trace the paper plate to determine thesize circle you will need). Use craft glue to secure the laminatedcircle of tissue paper between the two paper plate edges.
  4. Cut outeight to 12 equal-sized triangles. While the craftglue is still wet, insert the triangles between the paper plates toform sun rays.
  5. Punch a hole in the top of the two plates and thread a ribbonthrough. Hang the sun catcher in a bright window.
