Rock on at Lizzadro Lapidary

If your kid tries to pocket every slightly sparkly rock they see, it might be time for this class at the awesomely named Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art.

Geologist Sara Johnson gives an introduction to rocks and minerals, including how to make a basic mineral test kit and how to identify types of rock. It will give a new definition to the term “rock star.” Just make sure to keep any truly precious gems tucked away in your own rock collection, aka your jewelry box.
