LEGOLAND Chicago picks Mundelein 5th grader as MiniMaster Builder

And you thought YOU had a LEGO-crazy kid. Meet Patrick McInerney, a Mundelein 11-year-old and the winner of LEGOLAND Chicago’s MINIMASTER Builder Competition.

“When my mom told me about the contest, I wanted to make a video for it right away,” says Patrick, who began playing with LEGOs around age 2, when he got a Bob the Builder DuPlo set.

Patrick won LEGOLAND’s contest with this video:

He’ll get eight half-hour sessions with LEGO Master Builder Daniel Morey, who says Patrick’s video submission was “hands down, the most creative” of about 30 submissions.

He’s also won a field trip for his fifth-grade classmates to LEGOLAND in Schaumburg.
