Kids eat free at Johnny Rockets

Unless your family is traveling to Nepal, chances are good there will be a Johnny Rockets restaurant wherever you go.

In my B.C. (Before Children) days, I never would have opted to eat in a Johnny Rockets on, say, a cruise ship. But as the mom of a picky eater, I learned that sometimes it’s comforting to know that the restaurant is serving something your kids will eat without a fight.

So if you’ve got your own picky eater (Great Uncle Gene never would have tried the local cuisine either), here’s a Memorial Day weekend deal for you:

Kids 12 and under can get a free Rocket Kids meal (two mini burgers, fries and a drink) for free if they show up dressed in patriotic colors. The freebie is available May 28, 29 and 30 at the Johnny Rockets restaurants at 623 E. Boughton Rd., Bolingbrook, and at 2835 Showplace Dr., Naperville.
