Get out there and play

If you have a horse lover in your family, take them to a majestic show that celebrates the bond between humans and horses. Cavalia, a multimedia experience designed by one of the co-founders of Cirque du Soleil, is a mesmerizing show full of edge-of-your-seat acrobatic stunts and a beautiful demonstration of equine ability. A few of the acts involve a show of unbridled horses demonstrating dressage techniques—think ballet for horses—with their handlers. This show is beautiful.

Please note that if you haven’t had“the talk” with your kids, there are a few moments of equine birthing imagery at the beginning of the show. Special ticket packages are available that include a tour of the stables after the show, a must-see for the horse-obsessed as you’ll have a chance to get an up-close view of the animals and the performers.

Cavalia is located under the White Big Top in the West Loop, Racine and Jackson. Shows run through Aug. 2. Ticket packages range from .50-9.50, .50-8.50 students 13-17 and seniors 65 and up, .50-6.50 kids 2-12. For more information, call (866) 999-8111 or visit cavalia.net.
