Get out and play

Build rockets and explore the galaxy with your family at the Adler Planetarium, located at 1300 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, today through Saturday during Adler Winter Family Week. The rockets you build might not take off for true galaxy exploration, but your imaginations surely will.

During Adler Winter Family Week, you and your family will have the opportunity to get creative by making your own model Gemini 12 to take home from 10-11:30 a.m. (ages 6 and up) or build your own robot from 1-3 p.m. (families). There will also be an ongoing scavenger hunt and telescope viewing. You can also join Space Flight docents who will help you explore artifacts in the“Shoot the Moon” gallery.

This event is free with general admission ($10, $8 for residents, $6 kids 4-17, $5 resident kids 4-17, $8 seniors, $6 resident seniors). For more information call (312) 322-7827, or visit the Web site, www.adlerplanetarium.org.
