Introduce your kids to classic books

By the time most kids hit high-school English and start working their way through the canon of classic literature, they’ve been conditioned to think the classics are lame. “A bunch of old dead guys?” they think. “Why should I care?”

Mundelein author Robert Bresloff is trying to nip that attitude in the bud. His recently released book, “The Wee Musketeers,” is the first in a series meant to inspire early interest in the classics. Meant for fourth- through eighth-graders, the book brings Alexandre Dumas’ classic down to eye level, through the story of three friends during the summer of 1961.
