Adventures by Disney, the high-end family vacation tour company run by the world’s most famous mouse, will be heading to southeast Asia in 2013.
The tour will include stops in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, three of the hottest new vacation spots in the world.
Adventures by Disney Vice President Josh D’Amaro announced the new itinerary on Sunday during a media event aboard Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Fantasy. The 4,000-passenger ship will be running seven-day cruises from Port Canaveral, Fla., to the eastern and western Caribbean.
Adventures by Disney does on land what the company’s cruise ships do by sea: Offers a terrific family vacation experience that allows parents to return home feeling like they had a vacation too.
As the family vacation planner, it’s a rare thing for me to come home feeling like I gotren a break too. But when my kids and I were invited to join an Adventures by Disney trip to Italy a couple of years ago, that was exactly how I felt. I didn’t even have to take the photos-the two Disney tour guides did that for us, along with making sure all of the vacation details were handled. That included making sure our luggage magically appeared in our rooms at the next destination, that we never had to wait in line to see a site, even that the microphones and ear buds used by our local tour guides actually worked.
Adventures by Disney is a “premium” vacation and comes at a premium price. But sometimes spending a little more is worth it.
