Got talent?

Special Talents America, in partnership with the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association, is inviting singers, musicians, dancers, actors, comedians and magicians who have disabilities to audition for its 2012 talent show.

The event will be held Nov. 5 at the Wentz Concert Hall and Fine Arts Center on the campus of North Central College in Naperville.

Fifteen semi-finalists will be drawn from talent across four states-Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan-and will be broadcast on cable television throughout the Midwest.

Finalists will perform before a live audience. Celebrity guests and judges are expected to participate.

Greg Bizzaro, one of the executive producers of Special Talents America, expects hundreds of submissions and says he hopes the event will soon outgrow its borders.

“We want to make it national by 2014,” Bizzaro says.

All applications and audio and video submissions must be received by Jorie Meyer at WDSRA at 116 N. Schmale Road in Carol Stream before July 27.
