Go green for a week with St. Patrick’s Day activities

Get ready for the year’s greenest week of celebration centering on St. Patrick’s Day.

The Irish American Heritage Center will combine live music, dance, food and activities during three separate celebrations of all things Irish.

Begin the festivities on Friday, March 12 with Irish Dance Chicago, which showcases Chicago area Irish dancers. Starting at 7 p.m., tickets are $10 for adults and children under 12 are free with a paid adult.

The IAHC’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival kicks off after Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 13 from 1 p.m.-midnight. The family-friendly event features traditional and modern Irish music, food, dance and children’s activities. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 before March 12. Children under 12 are free with a paid adult.

On St. Patrick’s Day itself, Wednesday, March 17, IAHC pulls out all the stops for its annual day-long St. Patrick’s Day party. From noon-1 a.m., enjoy Irish dancing, music and food. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.
