Where to get a military deal on Veterans Day

Whether you’re taking advantage of a long holiday weekend to sneak out of town or staying right here at home, there are plenty of companies willing to show a little gratitude to a veteran on Veterans Day. Here is a list of some of the places offering deals to current and former members of the military. After all, isn’t a free meal the least we can do say thanks?

Places offering Veterans Day deals

Anheuser-Busch Parks: Free admission for active duty service members and three dependents to any of their parks once a year. Participating parks include Adventure Island, Busch Gardens (Tampa Bay or Williamsburg), SeaWorld (Orlando, San Diego, or San Antonio), Sesame Place, and Water Country USA.

B&Bs for Vets: More than 485 bed and breakfasts across the US and Canada offering current and retired service members a free night’s stay on November 10. Space is limited. Reservations must be made directly through the participating Inns and B&Bs.

Carnival Cruise Lines: Special rates to active duty and retired military throughout November. Book up to three rooms at the discounted rate.

Colonial Williamsburg: Free weekend-long admission tickets to active-duty military, reservists, retirees, veterans, and their immediate dependents Nov. 11-13. The complimentary ticket includes admission to exhibition sites, art museums, and most daytime programs, as well as free parking and use of the shuttle bus system. Tickets are only available at on-site ticket sales locations. Tickets are also available to families of deployed service members.

Knotts Berry Farm Military Tribute Days:Free park admission for current and retired service members plus one guest from Nov. 1-24.

San Jacinto Monument and Museum: Free admission for veterans and their families Nov. 7-13 for the theatre, Observation Floor, and on November 12-13 the special exhibit to all veterans and their families.

Also, national parksare offering free entrance over Veteran’s Day weekend, November 11-13th,to honor America’s service men and women.Over 100 parks are participating.

Restaurants offering discounts

Applebee’s: Free meal to military veterans and active-duty service members on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11.Choose from seven entrées. Military ID or proof of service required.

Chili’s: Free meal for veterans on Nov. 11. Choose from six menu choices. Available at participating Chili’s in the U.S. only; beverages and gratuity not included.

Golden Corral: Tenth annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation dinner will be Monday, Nov. 14 from 5- 9 pm at all Golden Corral Restaurants nationwide. Free meal to all retired and current members of the military, National Guard or Reserves.

McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants: Free lunch or dinner on Nov 13. Valid at participating restaurants only. Space is limited and reservations are highly recommended.

Uno Chicago Grill: All current and retired service members get 19.43 percent off (they company started in 1943) through Nov. 11.
