5 fabulous ways to celebrate Galentine’s Day

What’s Galentine’s Day? “Oh, it’s only the best day of the year,” said Amy Poehler on “Parks and Recreation.” It’s a day like Valentine’s Day (only way more fun), and is all about putting ovaries before brovaries. So this February 13, let us share a bag of Dove chocolates, watch Netflix and ponder what Channing Tatum is doing at this very moment.

Here are five ways to profess your unwavering love for all the fun, fearless gals in your life.

Paint the town pink

Stylisted and Bright Pink are celebrating Galentine’s Day at Siena Tavern for mimosas and brunch. On Saturday, Feb. 13 from 11 a.m. – 1.p.m., you and your BFF’s can sip while stylists touch up your hair and makeup. Best of all? It’s only $25, and proceeds benefit Bright Pink, a national non-profit focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.

Get creative

Dabble.co is a website that links people of all creative interests together. From a piñata making class to truffle tutorials and candle crafting, you’re sure to find something that sparks your interest. Grab your gal and sign up for a course, and don’t forget to BYOB!

Get dolled up

Martinis & Mani’s at Beauty Bar? Done and done. Martinis & Manicures happen nightly from 7 p.m.- 12 a.m. You get bonus points if you stay and dance to the Y2K hits the DJ plays!

Throw the sweetest movie night

Two words: Chick flicks. My go-to is “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days.” What will you and your bestie choose? Just add bubbly (or Welch’s sparkling juice for your preggo pals) and cupcakes from Sugar Fixe Patisserie. Cue the Best. Night. Ever.

Work it out

Bring your favorite gal pal to the Barre; the kind that calls for yoga pants and messy topknots, that is. Work it out with your best babe while you sweat away an ex … or the cupcakes from the night before. Visit The Barre Code in Oak Park at 1 p.m. on Feb. 13 for mimosas and a fun class. If you RSVP to oakpark@thebarrecode.com AND mention this article, you will get a 2 for 1 rate!
