Shedd Aquarium will be free this weekend

Shedd Aquarium reopened today. after being closed due to the severe weather conditions. To thank Chicagoans for their patience during the historically low temperatures and to help cure the city’s cabin fever, Shedd is offering two “make up” Illinois Resident Discount/Free General Admission Days this Saturday, Jan. 11 and Sunday, Jan.12.

Illinois Resident Discount Days include free general admission to the Original Galleries only; however, residents can also purchase discounted admission to Shedd’s other exhibits, including the Abbott Oceanarium and Jellies. A Shedd Pass is available at a discount during these days at $22.95 for adults; $15.95 children (ages 3-11).

Proof of residency must be provided in-person when purchasing tickets at the discounted rate. Shedd is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekends.
