Get out and play

 

This Sunday, broaden your musical horizons at 3 p.m. at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance at Millennium Park, 205 E. Randolph Drive, with“Passport to World Music.” Fulcrum Point New Music Project and the Silk Road Theatre Project actors will use storytelling and multimedia to explore music and culture.

Through the telling of the children’s stories Cat and Rat: The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac by Ed Young and Frida by Jonah Winter and Ana Juan, your family will hear music from Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Fitness for kids

 

Do you know a child who could use a little more fitness? Win a Fitness Camp Session valued at ,900. Chicago Parent, Michigan Apple Committee and Wellspring Camps are offering one winning Chicago area child a free four-week weight loss and fitness camp session (transportation not included). Become an ambassador

We’re looking for loyal readers, like you, to be a Chicago Parent ambassador. Chicago Parent ambassadors have the opportunity to interact with other Chicago Parent readers by working at fun, lively community events sponsored by Chicago Parent throughout the city and suburbs.

A Chicago Parent ambassador must be friendly and customer-oriented. Duties include distributing goody bags, answering questions about Chicago Parent magazine and registering people interested in receiving the Chicago Parent Weekend E-dition.

Base pay is .50 an hour and we reimburse for parking expenses. In some cases, complementary tickets are available for family and friends. There are lots of giveaways from other vendors at most of these events, too.
