If your family is still searching out a way to make sure that gratitude and thankfulness are on your list this holiday season, Disney and the folks at Points of Light have you covered.
The two partners have declared Nov. 23 as the 29th Family Volunteer Day and created a website to help families find places to volunteer their time or brainstorm projects to spend 2020 giving back. Families with passions that range from veterans’ aide to animal welfare can find a way to serve their communities.
Disney has upped the ante and is giving away 1-Day Park Hopper passes to groups or families that volunteer. (Check out the rules to be eligible and enter the giveaway here.)
Chicago Cares, a non-profit in the city that helps organize volunteers, is a grant recipient from Points of Light. Chicago Cares has a calendar that can help families find ways to fit volunteering into their busy schedules. Families can sign up to help at food banks, take their pets to senior centers or go caroling.
