So many reasons to love fall, plus a giveaway

Before we “see” each other next week, the seasons will officially transition to fall and I can finally feel safe to wear boots, scarves and carry my pumpkin spice latte without being lambasted by those clinging for life to summer. (Ahem, fellow blogger Kari Wagner Hoban!) I’ve collected some of our featured fall pins for you to peruse and try yourself. “Leaf” summer behind you. (See what I did there?)

Time to start thinking about pumpkins and more importantly, what you’ll do with all those seeds.

Kids like messy? Try out this pumpkin putty using ingredients you probably already have around your home.

Did someone say pumpkin pie truffles?

Another great fall flavor I love is apples. Think candied apples, apple pies, apple tarts, or even apple cider doughnut holes.

These multi-colored leaf cookies will not only be fun to look at, but delicious to eat. More crafty fun includes this peanut butter birdseed holder that you can help your kids make.

Don’t forget my favorite part – fall foliage! We always have a beautiful time this part of the year because we enjoy the way the trees change and turn the leaves a new rainbow of colors.

Lastly, don’t forget to get out there and enjoy these apple orchards and pumpkin farms. Sarah Parisi of Toddling Around Chicagoland has a great round-up that she does every year with up to date information about the local Chicagoland places to see.

What do you love most about fall? Comment below for your chance to win a $15 Starbucks gift card! Ends at midnight Sept. 25.
