It’s royal wedding day and the opening of Broadway in Chicago’s Peter Pan. In honor of both special occasions, we are giving away a signed copy of NeverWorld, the only sequel to Peter Pan that remains true to J. M. Barrie’s original. The book is by local Chicago author, Peter Von Brown, and the winner will get a signed copy of the book and a NeverWorld Tee Shirt.
Peter, the author-not the character, went to England in 2009 to see the very same production that is opening in Chicago tonight. He stayed in Kensington Gardens and visited the home where Barrie lived. He booked the theatre tickets a half a year in advance and flew half way around the world for what we are fortunate enough to have in our own back yard now.
The night of the show, he arrived to find everyone dressed in their finest and sipping champaign. Then he found out the prince of England was attending that night’s performance of Peter Pan! It’s strangely appropriate for today. Click on the link to read the author’sreview of the production he saw with royalty. Peter Von Brown
