A 30-day challenge for vacation detox

The past few days, my husband and I spent some days in paradise. We ate and drank to our hearts’ content and while we kayaked and did some pool exercises, I’m sure it wasn’t enough to fend off the damage that we did. With that in mind, I thought it might be time to issue myself a vacation detox challenge.

Over the next 30 days, I’m going to focus on making small changes (using Pinterest) to bounce back from a vacation overload. On the exercise side of things, I’m going to try this set of 13 exercises for beginners. With this simple exercise routine, I’m hoping to save money in my pocketbook and save time without having to bring my boys out into this freezing cold weather!

On the food side of things, I’m planning to use these different ways to help my groceries last longer. With fresh produce and food not full of preservatives I find that I can’t seem to make it last very long or it goes bad way too quickly (perhaps a signal to eat it faster?). I’m hoping these tips help me to do just that!

I’m planning to try two new recipes this month (that I hope will be family friendly!) Zucchini pizzas and Quinoa burgers. I have an aversion to cottage cheese, but I have quite a bit of quinoa to use up, so I’m willing to give it a shot.

Have a vacation you need to bounce back from? Or even a vacation you need to get body-ready for? Join me on this challenge and I’ll report my progress in a month. We can do it. For more tips and great ideas, check out Chicago Parent’sPinterest boards.
