Jardine cribs are being recalled because the crib slats can break, creating a gap and causing an entrapment and strangulation hazard. The recall involves three models of wooden cribs sold at Toys‘R’ Us and Babies‘R’ Us. Evenflo Majestic high chairs have been recalled because plastic caps and metal screws on both sides of the chair can loosen and fall out, posing both fall and choking hazards to children.
The plastic caps and screws that become loose and fall out can cause the seat back to suddenly fall or detach from the high chair. Evenflo has received 140 reports of high chair failure and injuries. It also has received more than 1,000 reports of plastic caps and screws falling out.
The recall involves high chairs made before Jan. 23, 2007, that were sold at stores, including Toys‘R’ Us, Babies‘R’ Us and Burlington Coat Factory, for between $80 and $110. For specific model numbers recalled or to receive a free repair kit, check the Web site at www.majestichighchair.com.
Phil& Ted’s Dash Buggy Stroller. The strollers, manufactured by Regal Lager Inc., have a frame handle that could fail to latch properly and break, posing a fall hazard to children. The recall involves strollers with article #7-1080005 (red) and article #7-10080005 (black). The article number can be found on the safety strap hanging from the handle.
