Cosmotot’s Witchin’ Halloween Guide: Classic Disney Costumes

Parents barely have time to stock up on the requisite 10,000 pounds of candy, much less craft a costume from scratch, but fortunately for us, The Disney Store is in the business of making magic.

Take all the credit with realistic, kid-sized disguises so classically movie cool, you’ll wish All Hallow’s Eve came more than once a year.

Channel a serious pirate vibe and be prepared to walk the plank with a Captain Hook costume. Designed with authentic disney character, the swashbuckling villian from Peter Pan turns youngsters into the real deal with a velveteen jacket trimmed in brocade and gold lamรฉ that fits comfortably over a white ruffled dickey with self-stick fabric closure in the back (perfect for wearing over a toasty turtleneck). Black jersey pants with an elastic waist and cuffs, not to mention some wicked cool spat-style faux boots with flashy gold buckles complete the look, especially if you spring for the Captain Hook Hat and Sword and Hook set.

Play a tough, Tangled princess with a sparkling Rapunzel costume. Glittery images from the movie trim the shimmering organza skirt, and the glimmering bodice features a lace-up ribbon, jeweled Rapunzel cameo and comfy jersey back. The whole shebang has lace trim, and since little princesses wouldn’t be princesses without it, the organza puffed sleeves showcase ribbon, tulle and plenty more sparkle. While you’re at it, go for the whole glam look with Rapunzel’s Braided Hair Halo, Light Up Wand and shoes (be sure to outfit your gal in a pair of snug tights or socks to go with the shoes. Since they’re plastic, it’s best to try and avoid blisters while hoofing it around the neighborhood).

Grab a Mickey Mouse Treat Basket or Tote since kiddos (ahem, parents) need something sturdy for collecting neighborhood spoils. Sturdy construction, roomy interiors and themed collections make them easy to match to costumes and double handles are easy for little kids to lug.
