What is ChiTown Parent?

Welcome to ChiTown Parent, a new community blog from Chicago Parent. We’ve spent a lot of time and effort over the past year improving ChicagoParent.com, but when we took a step back, we realized what was missing was you. Chicago parents. Lots of ’em.

So we went out and found 12 people living, working and raising their kids in the urban jungle they call home. They include an actor, a momtrepreneur, a CPS language teacher, a husband-wife team, and one fit mama. They have 15 kids between them, ages 16 months to 10 years.

And over the coming months, they’ll take on The CPS Scramble, the skinny on Chicago’s neigborhood farmers markets, and why they ever thought it was a good idea to have a baby in a high-rise. Follow along as 12 city parents report in with news and notes from across Chicago’s neighborhoods.
