Happy Birthday Chicago!

175 years is nothing to sneeze at. Instead, get ready to blow out some candles at Chicago’s big birthday bash at the Chicago History Museum.

The ordinal (that’s fancy talk for 175th) celebration includes live entertainment and free admission to the museum to soak up history dating back to the wild onion days. And of course, everyone in attendance can nosh on a piece of birthday cake from the Bleeding Heart Bakery.

Things might have changed in the years since 1837, but we still have a healthy appreciation for delicious baked goods!

Noon-2:30 p.m. March 4. Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., explorechicago.org.
