Celebrate the master of rhyme at one of these Seussical events around Chicagoland this weekend:

This month we celebrate a man whose talents entertain and educate. Happy 109th birthday to Dr. Seuss!

Dr. Seuss Day

This one-day-only event will celebrate the work of Dr. Seuss andengage children and families in fun, Seuss-inspired activities inorder to create excitement and enthusiasm around reading andwriting. Stop in any time to celebrate with coloringactivities, face painting, readings, childrens’ book discounts,cake, and with the following special guests: 10 a.m. Silly Seussiancrafty with Wishcraft Workshop and gluten-free, nut-free sweettreats from Wish Upon a Starch; 11 a.m. Interactive storytime withthe Junior League of Chicago’s Mad Hatters; noon Dr. Seussstorytime and Seuss-inspired theatre games with professionalteaching artists from Emerald City Theatre Company.


Dr. Seuss Birthday Party

Kids listen to classic Seuss stories, work on a fun craft, playsilly games and enjoy a birthday snack. Come dressed as yourfavorite Dr. Seuss character and receive a special prize.


Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Bash

Kids have a brilliant time as they hop, craft, and even rhyme. Enjoy rhyming activities and gross-motor games, hourly readings of Dr. Seuss classics and one-of-a-kind bookmark crafts.

Kids can help wrap up the week-long Seussabration with Dr. Seussstories, a special visit from Thing 1 and Thing 2 and birthdaycake.
