Evenflo started a voluntary recall of convertible car seats and booster seats late last week that could impact a number of Chicago families.
The recall involves seats made between 2011 and this year, including select Momentum, Chase, Maestro, Symphony, Titan 65, SureRide, SecureKid, Snugli All-in-One and Snugli Booster models.
In a press release, the company said that while the harness crotch buckle meets crashworthiness requirements, the buckle may become resistant to unlatching over time when food and drinks are spilled on it and prevent parents from getting their child out of the seat.
Evenflo said it is doing the recall in light of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ordering a recall of Graco Children’s Products in February for the same buckle issue.
A free remedy kit is available. Visit buckle.evenflo.com or call (800) 490-7591 to see if your seat is on the list.
