Britax infant car seats recalled due to laceration, choking hazard

More than 23,000 Britax Chaperone car seats are being recalled because of a faulty harness clip. The harness chest clip can break off and accidentally scratch babies in the seat, or the clip can detach and babies can put it in their mouths, presenting a choking hazard.

The recall involves car seats with model numbers E9L95P2 in Red Mill, E9L95P3 in Cowmooflage and E9L6N9 in Moonstone. You can find the model number on the underside of the car seat.

Britax is offering a free replacement kit with a new chest clip inside. Contact the company at 888-427-4829, and visit the website at britaxusa.com for more information.
