Born This Way

So this weekend I finally downloaded Lady Gaga’s new song Born This Way. I had heard about her egg-pod arrival to the Grammy’s, but I had yet to listen to the song.

And now that I have, I can only say that I am proud of her. This girl is only 24 years old and she is reminding all of us to love and respect ourselves.

You may not agree with her imagery, much of it is inappropriate for children, but through her music she is doing an amazing service for the young people of the world.

You haven’t heard the song? Here are some of the lyrics….

My mama told me when I was young We are all born superstars She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on In the glass of her boudoir "There's nothing wrong with loving who you are" She said, "'Cause He made you perfect, babe" "So hold your head up, girl and you you'll go far, Listen to me when I say" I'm beautiful in my way, 'Cause God makes no mistakes I'm on the right track, baby I was born this way Don't hide yourself in regret, Just love yourself and you're set I'm on the right track, baby I was born this way

After one listen I couldn’t wait to dance to it in the kitchen with my girls, and I couldn’t help but think of all the people who would be dancing, singing, and believing in what this song has to say. It kind of choked me up.

You may not love her music, but her message is worth hearing – you are who you are, and who you are is OK.

This lady is walking the walk. Go Gaga, Go.
