With kindergartener on his way this fall, I’ve become much more aware of the different storage and organizational needs that we might have for the upcoming school year. This week’s I am featuring a variety of storage ideas for the college dorm room, unique backpack ideas and more.
School Day helpers
Whether it’s a backpack or pencil case, finding the right storage solution to haul books and homework everywhere is important. I recently came across the AttachaPack that provides you with the opportunity to customize for design and functional purposes. With interchangeable outside pockets, the design is entirely up to you. I love that you can remove them for ease of use and to modify the backpack for your needs. The unique backpack builder also gives you different style options and allows you to visually create something that will suit your family’s individual needs. Additional accessories make the experience even more personalized.
What about for all those school supplies? Maybe a Duck Brand tape pencil case is in order. With a variety of options, kids can create something that’s unique for them without breaking the bank. It also makes it easier to differentiate from the standard box versions. What about a candy bag pencil holder? Made from recycled candy bags, these cases are functional and cute! (Although my boys would be a bit disappointed that there wasn’t actual candy in there.)
Locker love
My niece recently ran off to high school and a locker is a great way to show off her own style. The dollar store has a ton of great, inexpensive ideas to make your child’s locker their own. A locker chandelier? I kind of wish I was back in high school myself. Taking the Duck Brand tape style to the next level, these washi tape accessories can decorate those walls in a snap. Think creatively and make something that fits your needs and design.
College dorm solutions
Dorm decor on a budget means more money for books and late-night Starbucks runs. What about an old book to create some unique wall or door art? Stop what you’re doing and buy this cart from IKEA. Then buy five more for your house. You’re welcome. Use PVC pipes to create unique shoe storage. Storage ottomans serve a dual purpose and are perfect for those tight dorm room spaces.
